The City Council opened a public hearing on the city's 2025 draft budget and heard that the document is essentially final, including a 7% cost-of-living adjustment for employees. The chair said staff's latest run of the numbers shows payroll will come in slightly under earlier projections.
"It has the 7%, cola to the employees in there, and we still came out a little bit less," the chair said, describing the draft that staff circulated by email. Council members were told Tammy prepared the final calculations and did not identify further changes from the prior meeting.
Council members moved to close the budget workshop and indicated the council will hold a single December meeting to adopt the budget. The chair asked members to plan accordingly for that meeting, which was presented as the only additional meeting needed to approve the 2025 budget.
