Commission approves temporary waivers for Saint Nectario's Greek Fest

Palatine committees approved organizers' requests to hold the Saint Nectario's Greek Fest June 24'June 26 and granted associated waivers and permits, including a temporary Class E liquor license recommended by the Liquor Commission. Staff said the festival's requests are similar to prior years; the only new request was temporary signs starting the Monday before the event, which staff recommended limiting to the event days.
Committee members discussed prior violations of the sign ordinance and directed that signs be allowed only during the three days of the event (Friday'Sunday). Staff also said they will continue to work with organizers to develop traffic, parking and security plans. The liquor license application covered Friday through Monday and excluded the carnival-only Thursday night (per the separate JC's license). The motion passed at committee and before the Liquor Commission.
