The Infrastructure & Environment Committee reviewed a request to authorize the village manager to purchase a replacement skid steer loader. Staff said $46,350 had been allocated in the 2016 budget for the replacement and that the village could purchase an Atlas Bobcat through a national joint-purchase alliance for $45,863; an expected trade-in value of roughly $14,000 would be used and several existing attachments would be reused while purchasing one new attachment.
Staff explained the acquisition could enable fleet adjustments, including potential reductions in full-size sweepers as operational needs evolve. The committee voted to forward the purchase authorization to the consent agenda for council approval.
