The presenter noted that the federal rule set was recently implemented on Aug. 1, 2024 and that an injunction has been filed at the Supreme Court level by two states and by several school districts, so the district will adopt the policy while awaiting any federal changes.
"It took 4 years for it to go under review. It was implemented on 08/01/2024," the presenter (S2) told the board, and the district said it will follow the local procedures until any federal determination requires a change. The board called for votes on policy 3205 and the motion carried; subsequent votes carried for the mirrored staff protections in policies 5011 and 5012.
