At its Sept. 22, 2025 special meeting, the Van Alstyne ISD Board of Trustees took the following formal actions:
• Adopted clarified dress-code requirements: skirts/dresses fingertip length or longer; leggings nontransparent and to be worn with mid-thigh-length shirts; shorts mid-thigh minimum. Motion by Trustee Beau Williams; second by Trustee Matt Morris. Vote: 7-0.
• Approved a resolution authorizing the superintendent or designee to execute a property contract and related documents to complete a purchase for the district. Motion by Trustee Beau Williams; second by Trustee David Kerr. Vote: 6-0 with Board President Randall Morgan recorded as abstaining. The minutes do not list the property address, purchase price, or closing date.
The board directed Superintendent Dr. Brown to communicate the dress-code updates to families by Thursday or Friday of the same week. The minutes show the meeting was called to order and include a recorded adjournment time that appears to be inconsistent with the stated start time; the published meeting notice listed a 6:30 p.m. start, the minutes record a call to order at 7:30 p.m., and the adjournment line records 6:44 — the discrepancy appears to be a typographical error in the minutes.
