Valley Mills ISD campuses highlight student recognitions and upcoming tests, performances

Elementary, junior high and high-school staff reported teacher and student recognitions, STAAR camps for grades 3–5, UIL success including a first-place Computer Science finish, CNA clinical completion and certification exams scheduled for April 22.
Campus leaders told the board about a range of student achievements and upcoming events. Elementary staff presented Teacher of the Month (Mrs. Hailes), Employee of the Month (Tanner Trigg) and 4th-grade Students of the Month; the elementary campus has launched STAAR camps for grades 35. Junior high staff highlighted a first-place finish by the 7th-grade girls track team and a YAM (Youth Aware of Mental Health) five-week visit to career classes. High-school staff reported a first-place finish for the Computer Science UIL team, CNA students completing clinical hours with certification exams scheduled for April 22, and preparations for performing-arts competitions and prom.
Staff also outlined upcoming supports for incoming freshmen, including Personal Graduation Plan work and parent meetings. The minutes note active hiring to fill open positions and multiple student engagement events (field trips, One Act Play, band competitions, a blood drive and community service activities).
