Board amends DOI grievance procedures, adopts TASB policy update, tables homeschool policy and approves three probationary teacher contracts
Summary
Trustees amended the District of Innovation grievance procedures, approved TASB Localized Policy Update 127, tabled FD(LOCAL) and FM(LOCAL), and approved probationary teacher contracts for three candidates.
The board made several policy and personnel decisions at the June 15 meeting.
Trustees amended the District of Innovation plan to revise grievance procedures as presented by administration and approved TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 127, which updates multiple (LOCAL) policies. The motions to amend the DOI and to adopt the TASB policy updates were moved and seconded and passed by roll call, 6–0 with one absence. Separately, the board moved to table FD(LOCAL) — Homeschool Extracurricular Participation and FM(LOCAL) — Extracurricular Absences as presented and recommended by TASB.
In open session following a closed personnel meeting, the board approved probationary teacher contracts for Oren Dye-Barker, Shelby Nicole Garcia and Vincent Smith for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion to approve those contracts was made by Darrell Pullin, seconded by Robert Conn, and passed 6–0 with one absence.
