The board tabled consideration of a roughly $18,000 repair for a 20-year-old Caterpillar bus to allow time for additional vendor quotes and further investigation.
Board members questioned whether spending $18,000 on an aging bus was prudent when a new replacement bus was estimated by staff to cost between $120,000 and $130,000. Mindee Mata said Rush Truck Centers was a Region 7 vendor and had provided a quote that included vehicle towing and inspection without charge; trustees asked about additional bids and timing before school starts. Nathan Bishop moved to table the motion for further investigation; Mathew Eastwood seconded. The motion to table passed unanimously.
