DRC asks West Orange Habitat to revise Edgeway preliminary plat; streetlighting and commission approval clarified

The Development Review Committee on Jan. 29 directed West Orange Habitat for Humanity and their project team to revise and resubmit the Edgeway preliminary plat for staff review only after staff reiterated code requirements for streetlighting. City Engineer Jim Monahan moved to have the applicants revise and resubmit the Preliminary Plat for staff review only; Building Official Skip Nemecek seconded and the motion carried unanimously 5-0.
Staff reminded the applicants that "Streetlighting both internally and on all street frontages is required pursuant to City Code – dark skies lighting is required." Applicants asked about specifics, and staff said the comment is a standard requirement and that the city had agreed to streetlight installation in this area. Staff also noted that site-plan approval by the City Commission will be required prior to issuance of site or building permits, and clarified that this requirement does not apply to the preliminary plat portion of the process.
The DRC did not grant final approvals and left the item pending revised submittal and/or staff review actions.
