Resident urges LED warnings, signage after trucks strike trestle

At the start of public comment, resident Richard Green said his group is using a federal CRISTA grant to pursue measures to reduce vehicle strikes at a nearby trestle and asked the council to consider removing field signage and installing LED flashing stop/warning signs to slow tall trucks approaching the structure.
Green said the goal is to slow traffic before vehicles pass under the bridge and to reduce incidents by raising driver awareness. He offered to produce a rendering of proposed changes and present ideas to the council. Chair asked Green to provide any additional information to staff (Tammy) ahead of the council retreat so the issue can be discussed further.
Council members thanked Green and asked staff to collect more detail; no formal directive or funding decision was made at the meeting.
