Board honors students and community partners; announces retirements and holiday schedule

"Through these mobile distributions alone, Shepherd's Heart is feeding about 7,000 families per month, distributing an incredible 300,000 pounds of food every 30 days," a district presenter said, and announced an upcoming distribution Saturday, Nov. 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Waco ISD Stadium. Board and school staff thanked Shepherd's Heart leadership for sustained support of student meals and food pantries.
District communications staff announced key dates: a student holiday and staff work day on Friday, Nov. 21; district closure Nov. 24'Nov. 28 for Thanksgiving with classes resuming Dec. 1; and a retirement reception for Coach Ed Love on Dec. 10 at Athletics (4'6 p.m.). The board also recognized longtime district counsel Pete K. Russick for more than four decades of service as he prepares to assume a District Court judgeship.
These items were presented as recognitions and routine announcements; no board action beyond ceremonial recognition and scheduling was required at the meeting.
