The board approved a renewal of the MOU with Forks Hospital to provide transportation services in the event of an evacuation. Staff said the agreement — last renewed in 2018 — allows the district to dispatch buses and drivers to assist long‑term‑care patients or others requiring transportation in an emergency.
Administrators explained the MOU is a renewal of past cooperative arrangements and does not itself obligate routine transfers; it simply sets the framework for emergency support. A board member suggested running a practice; administrators said the district has not conducted a full practice run of the MOU to date. "This, just allows, Tammy or somebody we would we would put a bus driver take a bus driver over to help evacuate if we need to for, long term care and or patients," an administrator explained during the discussion. The board approved the MOU by voice vote.
