"We get about a $500,000 a year through Timber Excise tax, so we want that," Diana said in explaining the district’s rationale. The motion to send the letter carried by voice vote. Diana said she will submit the board’s letter and may provide public comment at upcoming Board of Natural Resources hearings. Board members asked staff to publicize the letter so community members understand the connection between timber receipts and district services.
