Mayor Sanoica asked for a motion to move into closed session to consider personnel matters and to conduct the semi-annual review of closed-session minutes per the Illinois Open Meetings Act. Alderperson Koehler moved and Alderperson O'Brien seconded the motion. The minutes record the roll-call vote as ayes McHale, Budmats, O'Brien, Vinezeano, Boucher, Reyez and Koehler; nays 0; the council then entered closed session.
The minutes identify the statutory authorities cited for the motion as 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(1) (to consider the appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of a specific employee) and 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(21) (semi-annual review of closed-session minutes).
