The Veribest Independent School District Board of Trustees voted April 20 to raise the district purchasing and acquisition limit under Policy CH to $25,000. Trustee Mark Kellermeier moved the change, and Trustee Thadd Martin seconded; the motion carried unanimously, 7-0.
Board members said the higher threshold should reduce administrative burden on routine purchases and allow staff to respond more quickly for facility and classroom needs. "We are changing the purchasing and acquisition limit to $25,000," Trustee Mark Kellermeier said when introducing the motion. The board did not record any abstentions or dissenters on the vote.
Administrators told trustees they would update internal purchasing procedures and vendor solicitation steps to reflect the new threshold. The change will be folded into the district's Policy CH documents and procurement checklists for staff.
