Fiscal Officer Nyree Pieck presented the Budget Transfer Summary and General Fund Expenditures Report dated July 28, 2026. The Board moved, pursuant to Town Charter Section 703(A)(1), to recommend that the Board of Finance approve budget transfers exceeding $5,000 as presented; the motion carried 3–0.
The summary included numerous line-item transfers and notes. Among the items called out in the materials were an $82,808.27 opioid settlement revenue entry (Opioid Settlement Grant), and a planned transfer of $59,300 to capital reserves. The transfer summary and related documents were ordered attached to the meeting minutes and incorporated into the public record.
Why it matters: The transfers adjust departmental budgets to reflect vacancies, grant offsets and expenditure needs (examples include highway overtime, election costs and public safety expenses). Transfers over $5,000 require Board of Finance approval; the Board's action was a recommendation to that body rather than final fiscal approval.
