The Troup Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Jan. 12 to extend Superintendent Tammy Jones’s contract for one additional year. Trustee Todd Kelly moved the extension, and Trustee Vic Bansal seconded; the motion carried 7–0.
Board members also agreed that a recommendation for a salary increase will be made in June 2026 and, if approved at that time, would take effect on July 1, 2026. The board had met in closed session earlier to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation and contract; Jones left the executive session at 8:32 p.m. and the board returned to open session at 8:55 p.m.
