Trustee Tricoci moved and Trustee Sarro seconded to waive competitive bidding and authorize an emergency agreement with Novotny Engineering for Phase 2 design of the 17th Avenue Water Main Replacement Project on an hourly basis not to exceed $30,000. The board approved the motion on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Public Works Director Vince Ranieri had presented the Request for Board Action recommending design engineering services; the authorization allows staff to proceed with design work while the village completes procurement documentation. Trustees noted the authorization was limited to design-phase work and capped at $30,000.
The vote was recorded as AYES: Trustees Bianco, Canas, Czajka, Santucci, Sarro and Tricoci; NAYS: None. Officials said the work is expected to move the project toward construction-ready specifications.
