Public works staff presented a recommendation to buy a facility at 326 East Carlisle Parkway for approximately $365,000 so the city can store outdoor equipment under roof and protect it from weather. The proposal includes ownership of the building and adjacent parking areas on the east side. "We have, for some time, been looking for a facility to put a lot of our equipment under roof," the staff presenter said, explaining the acquisition would increase equipment longevity and consolidate storage needs.
Council asked staff to complete a Phase‑I environmental assessment; staff said a consultant would begin the inspection immediately with an expected two‑week turnaround for the report. Council approved the motion to acquire the property as amended for the environmental contingency and authorized the mayor to sign required documents.
