Public Works presented four recommended hires during the meeting and commissioners approved each by motion and voice vote. JD Hanley described Franklin Gaines as a "very seasoned road grader operator" with about 36 years' experience and recommended hiring him at $20.61 per hour on pay-matrix line 8. The chair moved to hire Gaines and the motion was seconded and carried.
Separately, Damon Duran was recommended as an equipment operator with mechanic experience and a Class A CDL at $18.91 per hour for District 3; Sean Chappell was recommended at matrix line E5 at $15.09 per hour for Road Shop 3; and Jesse Walton presented Isaiah Hanley for hire at $17.99 per hour on line 8a to be supervised by Todd Mueller. When the chair asked whether Isaiah was Walton's son the presenter confirmed, "Yes." Each hire was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote.
