Public Works announces bridge core sampling, burn-site relocation and CDL training restart plans

Public Works reported CFS Engineering will core-sample the old military bridge mid-month, the county is relocating its burn site onto county-owned property with KDHE permits in place, and staff regained access to the FMCSA training-provider registry to restart in-house CDL training.
JD Hanley of Public Works updated commissioners on multiple infrastructure and training items. He said, "They're gonna be starting the drilling over here on the old military Bridge to take the core samples in the middle of this month," and described plans to relocate the county's burn site roughly 200–300 yards south onto county-owned land as lots in LaCygne are being sold and KDHE permits have been approved.
Hanley also reported the county regained control of its FMCSA training-provider registry account, which is "vital to be able to do in house CDL training." He said a training contract has been sent to Jacqueline and that staff expect to set a curriculum and a standard employee commitment period so trained employees remain for a set term. The updates were presented during the Public Works report and drew no objections from commissioners.
