During the Jan. 23 special meeting, commissioners pressed National Testing Network for a detailed cost breakdown and clarification of membership options. Kelly Paule told the board that "the annual membership cost under the continuous posting model is $750 for police and $750 for fire," and said discounted pricing is available for three- and five-year terms. Commissioner Dave Walter requested more detail on the cost of add-on services, which Paule said she would provide to Sgt. Mike Katsenios.
The Commission discussed operational cost drivers and candidate fees. Paule described the vendor’s fee structure for candidate transfers and retesting: candidates may transfer an existing application and test score to another participating department for a $15 fee, and candidates may retest every three months for a $60 fee. Paule told the board that a passing score is 70 percent. The board asked the vendor to deliver a full cost breakdown for budget consideration.
