Rolling Meadows board hears pitch from National Testing Network to streamline hiring

Kelly Paule of National Testing Network presented the vendor's suite of hiring and promotional services to the City of Rolling Meadows Board of Fire & Police Commissioners on Jan. 23. Paule described the company's examinations as "validated and legally defensible," said the organization's client services staff "assists with implementation," and explained that examination scores are delivered in real time to reduce administrative delay.
Commissioners and department leaders questioned timing and logistics. Chairman Tom Callard asked about the length of testing; Paule said proctored components such as human relations and writing require about two hours, while unproctored self-assessments and job-suitability measures take about one hour and can be completed before the proctored components. Paule also noted the option of recorded interviews, which the vendor can score for an additional fee or provide a scoring rubric for the city to use independently.
