McBee Council Approves Cost Cut for Homesite, Authorizes Payments, and Announces Local Projects

Mayor Odom provided community updates: steel for the Multi-Purpose Building is on site, though work tied to USDA Rural Development is paused because of a federal government shutdown; the Mayor’s Christmas tree lighting is set for Nov. 29, 2025 at 6 p.m., and the Christmas Parade is Dec. 6 at 10 a.m. Odom said Garner Bros BBQ will lease the former Huddle House and hopes to open the week of Nov. 1; he also referenced an unnamed industry expected to invest "about $100,000,000.00" in town and reported about $70,000 raised so far toward the Children's Playground.
