Wheaton raises municipal gas-use tax and authorizes Nicor collection agreement

Following the tax increase, the council adopted Resolution R-2026-06 authorizing a Municipal Gas Use Tax Collection Agreement with Northern Illinois Gas Company (d/b/a Nicor Gas Company). Dzugan said that with the approval of the new rate "the City is required to enter into a new collection agreement with Northern Illinois Gas Company," and the resolution authorizes execution of that agreement.
