He said the college has visited nearly 40 regional high schools and plans additional outreach to strengthen relationships with superintendents, principals and counselors to support recruitment ahead of pre-enrollment.
Harp reported robust student engagement at recent events, including approximately 40 schools and more than 600 students participating in the Scholastic Contest, and noted athletic programs were active with basketball postseason play and baseball and softball seasons underway. He said a committee has begun meeting to determine allocation strategies for recent foundation funding with initial focus on expanding scholarship opportunities ahead of the April pre-enrollment period.
Harp also reported preparation work related to accreditation with the Higher Learning Commission and ongoing conversations with Southeastern Oklahoma State University about potential partnership opportunities. He emphasized continued legislative engagement at the state Capitol alongside Chief of Staff Lacey Pitman to advocate for the college's workforce and economic contributions.
