Council authorized a three‑year lease with Textron Specialized Vehicles (doing business as E‑Z‑GO) for golf carts at Wright Park, with a proposed lease cost of $55,000.
Brett (S12) said the city budgeted $47,000 previously and that the new lease would be $55,000; council discussed whether longer lease terms would be advisable given lithium battery life and the durability of other cart components. One council member asked whether a maintenance plan is included; Brett said the vendor covers the first year under warranty and routine maintenance such as greasing bearings is handled in‑house. The motion to approve passed 6–0.
Staff said the three‑year term was chosen because wear to wheels, tie rods and frames can make longer leases costlier despite battery endurance.
