Council awards $111,000 parks mowing contract to Crewcut (J.C. Hyde LLC)

Greenville's City Council voted to authorize an annual mowing contract with J.C. Hyde LLC, doing business as Crewcut, for parks and mowing services at a cost of $111,000.
Brett (S12) told the council the city solicited bids on Oct. 11 and 18 and received about 10 responses with a pricing range from $103,000 to $616,000; the recommended contractor has an existing relationship with the city and a satisfactory performance record. "We got about 10 total bids," Brett said, noting Crewcut will handle weekly mowing during the growing season across 38 cycles. The council approved the contract 6–0.
Staff said the contract amount will exceed this year's budgeted $107,000 and that they will monitor performance under the agreement.
