The Wimberley ISD Board on Feb. 9 approved the ranking of contractors for Bid Package 6 (multicampus improvements) and authorized the superintendent or designee to negotiate and execute a contract with the top-ranked firm, moving to the next rank if negotiations failed. "I move that the Board approve the ranking of the Contractors for Bid Package 6 (Multi- campus Improvements) as presented, and further authorize the Superintendent or his designee to negotiate a contract with the top-ranked contractor and if a contract cannot be reached then to terminate negotiations and move on to the next ranked and so on until a contract can be executed that is consistent with Board approved budgets and procurement requirements and in a form approved by legal counsel," Trustee Andrea Justus said; the motion passed unanimously among those present.
Separately, the Board approved Guaranteed Maximum Price #1 with Bartlett Cocke for the Wimberley High School Danforth JHS renovations project covering the new band practice field, and delegated authority to the superintendent to finalize the GMP amendment. "I move that the Board approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price #1 with Bartlett Cocke for the Wimberley High School Danforth JHS Renovations Project, as presented by Administration, and further delegate authority to the Superintendent to finalize any negotiations related to the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) Amendment #1 and execute the GMP Amendment in a form approved by legal counsel," Trustee Lindsey Deringer moved; the motion passed 6–0 with one trustee absent.
District consultants AG|CM and O'Connell Robertson reported design is approximately 70% complete and that construction on several bid packages is scheduled to begin in Spring 2026; they also noted cost-saving revisions to the WHS band practice field scope.
