The Municipal Grounds and Property Committee voted unanimously Jan. 27 to purchase a Sulzer/ABS Model XFP150G CB1.5 PE210/4 6" spare pump for the Lake Katherine waterfall from Flow‑Technics, Inc. for $20,415.00. Alderman Brennan moved the motion and Alderman Clifford seconded.
Public Works Director Joe Smith told the committee, "We currently do not have a spare pump," and emphasized that with wedding venues scheduled at Lake Katherine and the risk of water freezing in winter, having a spare pump is imperative. The purchase was approved on a voice vote with no dissent recorded.
