The Palos Heights Roads & Construction Committee on Jan. 13 approved Payment No. 2 to Builders Paving, LLC., for the Harold Avenue and Cypress Lane project in the amount of $229,074.81. Chairman Clifford moved the payment and Alderman Lewandowski seconded; a voice vote passed unanimously.
Morris Engineering told the committee it is holding a retainer to ensure remaining work is inspected when crews return in spring. Remaining tasks include planting additional shrubs near a retaining wall, enlarging and clearing a northern ditch to improve stormwater conveyance, and special excavation to correct an area where only topsoil existed beneath the prior pavement. Director Joe Smith presented the 2025 MFT update tied to the payment.
