The Selectboard approved amendments to the town’s Delinquent Tax Policy to reflect changes voted at Town Meeting. Melissa Whitcomb proposed updates to clarify that starting next tax season the town will no longer accept postmarks as proof of timely payment, and she recommended adding language to require payment on current taxes in addition to past-due balances. Clayton seconded and the motion passed.
The board recorded that the language needed updating to keep the policy aligned with recent practice and to remove ambiguity about whether current-year payments must be up to date to avoid delinquency enforcement.
