The Eden Selectboard held a beach lottery and moved to accept an estimated seasonal contract for the beach water system. The board ran the lottery, with Tim Bullard rolling the sequence "1, 3, 2, 4"; Roxanne Johnson selected Lot 16, Mike and Kristi McKnight selected Lot 5, and Christine Callahan, who arrived later, took Lot 14. The board will contact an absent lottery winner about the remaining lot.
The board also voted to accept Plumbing Solutions' estimate to open and close the beach water system for the 2026 season. Ricky Morin moved to accept the estimate; the motion passed. The contractor also provided a second estimate for future repairs, which the board decided to defer for later review. Tim reported from executive session that "no decisions were made" regarding personnel matters connected to beach staffing.
Board members discussed playground options and budget constraints tied to recent grants. Molly Morin said the board prefers to stay within the grant amount plus required match and favor metal/plastic playground structures rather than wood. The Selectboard also agreed that either beach managers or a Selectboard member will handle routine maintenance like changing the lawn tractor oil rather than sending the tractor out for service.
