Mayor Glenn Odom told the council that a planned, federally funded town building is not being erected because required federal approvals did not occur during the government shutdown.
"The building was funded a year ago, but before they could start erecting it, they have to sign off on it," Odom said, describing how the town submitted documents for approval shortly before the shutdown. He added that he had spoken with the project's owner and that the owner "isn’t worried at all" about the delay.
