89-year-old resident tells council an incident report and open-records request are missing from police files

Louisa Bryant (speaker 13) used her allotted public-comment time to press the council for help after a multi-step search for an incident report. She said she submitted a handwritten request stamped by the Greenville Police Department on 08/27/2025 but that the Attorney General's open-records division reported no record of the request. She provided a copy of her paperwork to the council and asked staff to identify a contact.
When asked by the city attorney (speaker 14) whether she did not receive a response or rejected the response, Bryant said the document provided by the police department was "no good" and that she believed the department's record was not legitimate. "Please somebody look at it, and you tell me that anybody would take that incident report and say that is a legitimate," she said. The mayor said staff would pass the information along and follow up.
