Superintendent Shaw provided the board with a high-level implementation timeline for a potential 5th–6th grade building and summarized operational responsibilities across transportation, operations, technology, student services and human resources.
Shaw said route creation and planning would occur in March and April, shifting boundaries in February, student bus assignments issued in August, logistics meetings for operations and technology in the spring, and classroom moves completed by the end of July. “A logistics meeting is really getting into everything that has to happen,” she said, laying out sequencing for facility readiness and technology moves.
On staffing, Shaw said administrator appointment work would be completed in early February and that the district would coordinate with the union on staff moves and compensation for time outside contracted hours (hourly compensation per contract). She also confirmed the district had not yet worked up a total cost estimate for the move and that the board requested a fiscal analysis tied to expected academic returns.
The board asked for detailed room-by-room allocations, transportation impact analyses and clear schedules for encore programs to evaluate whether the operational plan supports the instructional goals teachers described.
