Representatives for property owner Gerald F. Laase presented a request for an interim use permit to operate a short-term rental at 1422 329th Avenue NW on Elizabeth Lake. Trina Bergloff, zoning administrator, said the property sits in the Shoreland zoning district and is on a Natural Environment Lake. The dwelling (built in 2000) has three bedrooms and three bathrooms; the applicants proposed a maximum occupancy of eight guests, minimum two-night stays and no pets.
Marlene Laase said management would be available 24/7 and that contact information would be provided to neighbors within one-quarter mile with a two-hour maximum response time for complaints. Other conditions approved by the commission included no outside camping or RVs, no on-street parking, a visible address sign, a house manual and a "How to Stay Neighborly" brochure for guests, and termination of the permit if ownership changes or the use ceases for one year. Bruce Mickelson moved to recommend approval with 19 conditions; Todd Christensen seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
