Chair Tim Bullard opened the April 28 Eden Selectboard meeting and led a motion to enter an executive session under VSA 313(a)(3) to discuss the appointment or employment of public officers and employees. The board entered executive session at 6:01 p.m. and reconvened at 6:33 p.m.
Following the executive session, the board voted to offer a beach-manager proposal to Melissa Morin (to cover daytime shifts) and to Pam Uhlendorff (to cover nights and weekends). The motion to extend the proposal was moved by Tim Bullard and seconded by Clayton Whittemore; Ricky Morin abstained from the hiring vote because of a family relationship with Melissa Morin. The minutes record that staff will reach out to both candidates with the proposal and next steps.
The hiring action was recorded as a formal motion and approved by the board. The board did not record a roll-call tally in the minutes beyond the noted abstention. The board’s use of VSA 313(a)(3) for the executive session was documented in the minutes.
