Tom Green County commissioners approved allocating vacant second-floor space at 3052 North Bryant (the former Walmart) to the sheriff's office for use as a law-enforcement training facility.
Sheriff Anna described the operational benefits: "We'll be putting our mats up there for defensive tactics...then we can do CQB and other defensive techs out at our training facility without having to travel across town." The motion to allocate the space was made, seconded and passed by voice vote; commissioners discussed ceiling height and fire-suppression devices and asked staff to coordinate building use and any required safety designations.
