During the 'citizens to be heard' portion of the meeting, resident Bailey Moats of 5805 Shelby Avenue asked the council to repair Shelby Avenue before additional development proceeds. Moats said short-term patches have repeatedly failed and described multiple occasions of tire damage in front of her driveway.
"There is probably 2 to 300 cars that actually travel down that road a day, and I it has taken out so many tires, 2 of my personal tires," Moats said. Her request was made after the mayor announced that solar farm items on the agenda would be tabled and rescheduled; Moats asked that road improvements accompany future growth in the area.
