The Greenville City Council approved an ordinance ordering a general election to elect council members to Places 3 and 4, setting the election for May 2, 2026 and designating June 13, 2026 as the runoff date should one be necessary. The ordinance included authorization of a joint election agreement and related administrative items.
During consideration the mayor asked whether there was public testimony and then called for a vote. The council approved the ordinance 6–0 with Mr. Freeman absent.
