Council approved Change Order No. 10 with AP Bill States in the amount of $447,000 to add several items to the recreation center project, including additional parking-lot lights east of the existing lot, a reinforced fitness-deck surface, an IDF cabinet for servers, and interior finish upgrades.
The mayor introduced the change order reading its amount: "Consideration and action of resolution authorizing the change order number 10 with AP Bill States in the amount of $447,000." City staff explained that adding lights and a more durable fitness-deck floor (about $40,000 of the total) would prevent damage seen in a similar facility and that other line items included an IDF cabinet and some interior credits for moving security systems to cloud-based solutions.
There was no public testimony. A council member moved to approve the change order and the council approved the action as presented.
Why it matters: The change order will add safety and durability features to a public recreation facility and increases the approved contract amount by the stated sum.
What’s next: Staff will proceed with the approved modifications and return necessary contract paperwork.
