Wimberley ISD bond program on schedule as $2.78M of $135M spent; parking and roofing projects move to bid

Wimberley Independent School District leaders told the board on Nov. 17 that work on the district's 2025 bond program is proceeding on schedule and within initial expenditure estimates.
Chief Financial Officer Michael Doyle introduced Mark Johnson with AG|CM, who said bid packages for Blue Hole Primary parking and a multicampus roofing and HVAC replacement package are advancing, with bids due in December and board award consideration slated for Dec. 15, 2025 and Jan. 12, 2026. "As of October 31, 2025, total expenditures were 2.78 million dollars of the $135 million bond," Johnson reported.
Designer Rachel Turando of O'Connell Robertson summarized more than 35 engagement meetings and site investigations that informed the design. The board heard plans for 50 additional parking spaces at Blue Hole Primary along Winters Mill Parkway and roofing and HVAC replacements at Jacob's Well Elementary (JWE), Blue Hole Primary (BHP) and Texan Academy at Scudder. Johnson and Turando said design development for Danforth Junior High and Wimberley High School is next, followed by contract document development and anticipated bid/GMP approvals between November 2025 and March 2026.
Board members asked clarifying questions about upcoming bid schedules and site preparations including platting, asbestos sampling and zoning applications for the Danforth property. No vote was required on the informational update. The board will consider contract awards for specific bid packages at upcoming meetings.
