Red Oak ISD Board denies Level 3 appeal, upholds administration decision

"Mr. Kelly made a motion that the Board deny the appeal and uphold the Administration’s prior decision." Board Secretary Sean Kelly moved the motion and Board Member Donna Knight seconded; the motion passed 5–0. The vote recorded Melanie Petersen, Johnny Knight, Sean Kelly, Donna Knight and Donny Lutrick as voting "Yea." John Anderson and Brian Sebring were absent.
The board's closed-session agenda cited Texas Government Code sections 551.071, 551.074 and 551.0821, and the materials list the hearing as conducted pursuant to Board Policies FNG (LEGAL) and FNG (LOCAL). The minutes record that the board consulted with district legal counsel and conducted the Level 3 hearing related to Camielle Thomas before returning to open session and taking formal action.
