County staff presented a design contract for airfield sealcoat, pavement marking and painting and recommended approval of a contract with Mead & Hunt for a design fee of $22,200. The presenter said the work is funded through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and described the funding split as predominantly federal (presenter stated 95% federal, 5% state), meaning the county would prepay and later be reimbursed.
Commissioners asked about interim funding and staff said the cost would be handled through capital outlay. A motion to approve the contract and authorize the county administrator to sign was made and carried by voice vote.
