The Princeton ISD Board of Trustees denied two Level Three personnel appeals under board policy FNG (LOCAL) at its Jan. 21, 2026 meeting.
Cyndi Darland moved to deny the appeal filed by Mrs. Epps; Duane Kelly seconded. The motion passed 5–2. Votes in favor of denial were John Campbell, Carlos Cuellar, Cyndi Darland, Duane Kelly and Sonia Ledezma; votes against were Starla Sharpe and Bianca Washington. Later the board voted 4–3 to deny the Level Three appeal filed by Alina Vela, on a motion by Cyndi Darland and second by Duane Kelly. For that vote the minutes list Carlos Cuellar, Cyndi Darland, Duane Kelly and Bianca Washington as voting to deny; John Campbell, Sonia Ledezma and Starla Sharpe voted against.
The minutes record the board's final actions and vote counts but do not include the detailed grounds for the decisions or testimony summarized in open session; much of the consideration occurred during executive session as permitted by Texas law (551.074). Because the minutes do not report the substance of closed-session discussion, the transcript does not include the factual bases or evidentiary record for the denials. The board's action places the personnel matters at final disposition within the district's appeal process.
