Board clears travel for Presidio High School rocketry teams and elementary field trip to Carlsbad Caverns

The board unanimously approved out-of-state travel requests. Both Presidio High School rocketry teams qualified for nationals and were authorized to travel to Plains, Virginia from May 13–18, 2026. Marco Lujan made the motion to approve travel for the rocketry teams; the motion carried 4–0.
Separately, elementary staff requested and received approval for a day trip to Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico, for second- through fifth-grade students during April or May; the trip will be funded by a grant. Maria Montoya moved that proposal and the board approved it unanimously.
