The Presidio ISD Board of Trustees opened its April 15 meeting by recognizing several student accomplishments, including UIL regional qualifiers from Presidio High School and students who advanced in this year’s Spanish Spelling Bee. Board President Perla Natividad and administrators thanked coaches, sponsors and parents for their support of extracurricular programs.
Superintendent Carmen Rubner and staff also highlighted the district’s VITA tax preparation program, noting the initiative is part of the business CTE course and that “this year, the program increased its client percentage by 75% from the previous year.” Board members praised students who completed Microsoft Office and Excel certifications while handling community tax filings.
