Board approves discontinuation of MS/HS student activity and art fees; scholarships and policy updates approved
Summary
The Board voted to discontinue MS/HS student activity and art fees for 2026–27, approved scholarship recipients for Wisconsin Academic and Technical Excellence awards, and adopted a set of NEOLA policy updates at second reading.
On March 25 the Boyceville Board approved several policy and student-support items. By motion of Ben Mrdutt, seconded by Jessie Olson, the Board voted to discontinue student activity and art fees for middle and high school students beginning with the 2026–2027 school year.
The Board also named scholarship recipients: Karen Schaff as the Wisconsin Academic Excellence in Education Scholarship recipient (after tiebreakers among five students who had 4.000 GPAs) with named alternates, and Jacob Schlough as the Wisconsin Technical Excellence Higher Education Scholarship recipient (alternate Bradley Maes). Additionally, the Board completed a second reading and approved a wide set of NEOLA policy updates and bylaw revisions by motion of Sharon Formoe; policy numbers were recorded in the minutes.
A recorded abstention occurred on the Academic Career Planning Document approval: Stacy Fetzer abstained due to a conflict; all other motions described in this item passed.
