Resident asks council to revisit RV parking length rules after driveway citation

Charlie Ralph, a Greenville resident, spoke during the public-comment period about a citation he received for parking his recreational vehicle in his driveway.
Ralph (S4) said he was cited though his RV was parked off the street on his property and that his street is wider than others in the city. He told council he had provided photos to the city secretary and asked why the ordinance applies a uniform length restriction; he asked the council to consider a variance or change so that enforcement accounts for differences in street width. "I was cited for having my RV parked in my driveway... I have almost 40 feet that I could put my trailer park," Ralph said.
The mayor thanked him for bringing the matter forward, said staff would have his contact information and that someone would reach out to reconsider the citation. No formal action or vote occurred on the item during the meeting.
